During the regular Board of Education meeting held on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, the Board did not vote to approve the Hybrid Learning Model recommendations. Therefore, we will continue with Remote Learning until further notice.
The 5Essentials Survey identifies five indicators that lead to improved outcomes for all students, including improved attendance and larger test score gains.
The five indicators that positively affect school success are:

In view of the fact that the COVID-19 positivity and transmission rates are increasing within our communities, our District is taking a measured and cautious approach toward a return to in-person learning. After consultation with Illinois Department of Public Health and careful consideration of the health and safety of students and staff, Elementary School District 159 have made the decision to begin the 2020-2021 school year with remote learning for all students. In addition, the first day of lessons has been delayed until August 24.
